I've found another book series that's sort of interesting, mainly because it's a multi-platform tale: books, cards, online game. No, it's not Pokemon.
The 39 Clues is about this HUGE family called the Cahills. There're 4 branches in this family, namely the Lucians, Ekaterinas, Tomas and Janus.
Apparently, every famous person in the last few centuries belong to this family, even if they don't take the name. Benjamin Franklin, Mozart, Houdini, you name it, they probably belong to the family.
Now, as I've said, this is a multi-platform tale. The books follow the steps of Amy and Dan Cahill who're on this quest to find 39 clues that can make them the most powerful people in the world. Of course, they've got a bunch of rivals who're ruthless, rich, and would do anything to take down each other to get the clues first. And guess what? They're all Cahills too.
Then there's the website, where YOU can join the hunt for 39 clues. You get to determine your branch in a simple quiz, and then you can access files that make good reading in your free time. If you were a bit younger, you might have won a prize if you solved the clues, but this is actually aimed at kids about 8 - 14, which matches most of our reading capabilities if you really think about it. *Yes I AM insulting you. Prove me wrong. =D*
Now, the branches:
Lucians. I had to put them first, since they're my branch. Lucians are the *evillest* clan (which suits me perfectly well...to a certain extent), and they hold the craftiest spies and the best leaders of the world. Famous folk in this branch: Ben Franklin, Napolean.
Ekaterinas, or Ekats. Shoy and Sky are part of this branch. Ekats are the smartest of them all, holding the inventors and scientists of all times. They sort of made the Loch Ness Monster and Bermuda Triangle. Famous folk in this branch: Marie Curie, Albert Einstein.
Tomas. Daredevils and athletes, the explorers of the Cahills. Really tough guys and fierce people, though they're not supposed to be too smart. Famous folk in this branch: Annie Oakley, Neil Armstrong, George Washington.
Janus: the creative people. They've laid down their lives for art. They're the writers, musicians, painters, sculptors, basically artists of all sorts. Even Harry Houdini is part of this (escape artist). Famous folk in this branch: Houdini, Picasso, Disney. (I'd been hoping to be part of this cause I like writing, but hey, you can't choose family!)
And there you have it: The basics of 39 Clues laid out for you to see. Ain't I nice?
